FPP Projects Coordinator, Warehouse

Fire Protection Publications (FPP) is seeking applications for the position of FPP Projects Coordinator, Warehouse. FPP is a department within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) and is the headquarters of the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA). As the world's leading publisher of high quality and technically accurate training materials, FPP provides a vital service to the fire and emergency services.

The position of Warehouse Coordinator serves as middle management for FPP and is responsible for all warehouse operations including, but not limited to shipping, receiving, inventory, and general maintenance of the warehouse and equipment. Responsible for setting goals and objectives for warehouse staff that will ensure excellent customer service is provided to all customers, both internal and external.

Minimum qualifications for the position include an associate’s degree and five years work related experience.

Senior FPP Editor

Fire Protection Publications (FPP) is accepting applications for the position of Senior FPP Editor. FPP is a department within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) and is the headquarters of the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA). As the world's leading publisher of high quality and technically accurate training materials, FPP provides a vital service to the fire and emergency services community.

The position of Senior FPP Editor is responsible for writing and editing original text from drafts of new or revised fire service training manuals, newsletters, and advertising materials. The position also oversees the work of contract writers and editors and is responsible for monitoring and exploring the latest developments in the fire service, fire service training, and technical writing. The Senior FPP Editor is also responsible for representing FPP and IFSTA at meetings, conferences and other related functions.

Minimum qualifications for the position include a Bachelor's degree in English, Adult Education, Technical Writing, Business Communication, Public Administration, Fire Service Administration, or other degree related to the writing and editing of technical manuals and/or instructional materials. In addition, this person must have at least three years work-related experience involving the writing or copy editing of technical manuals and/or instructional materials and have excellent oral and written communication skills. This individual must also have knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. This individual must be compotent in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ten years overall experience in the fire service with three years experience training emergency responders and three years experience in fire prevention or code enforcement are desired.
